1,773 Nigerians Killed In Benue By Armed Herdsmen- Council Chairmen, Tribal Leader Cries Out

The 14 Local Government Council Chairman who were most affected by the attacks by herdsmen in Benue state, as well as leaders from the state’s three main tribes under the auspices of Mzough U Tiv, Ochetoha K’Idoma and Onmi’Nyi Igede, voiced concern about the ceaseless activities of armed men across the state saying more than 1,773 were killed by looters in the state between 2018 and 2021.
At a joint press conference in Makurdi on Monday, the leaders called for the use of forces in the state’s border communities to check the state’s unhindered access to the state, especially with the onset of the dry season.
In a text readout on their behalf by Steve Ayua, President of Ukum-LGA, leaders complained that the attack not only cost lives but destroyed billions of naira assets in more than 200 counselling areas and state municipalities, According to them, “The herders come up under the disguise of TAP HERE!!
