A Nigerian man identified as Sikiru Adeniran has been apprehended by the police as he was attempting to steal a baby in Idomu-Owo, Ilese, in the Ijebu North East Local Government Area of Ogun State. Adeniran was chasing a young woman identified as Rodiat Iskilu. Rodiat ran in the direction where a nursing mother identified as Basirat Bakare was breast-feeding her twin babies. Rodiat managed to run away from Mr. Adeniran and suddenly, Mr. Adeniran turned his attention towards Basirat and her twin babies. Adeniran tried to snatch one of the babies but Basirat held on to her babies

Mr. Adeniran continued his attempt to snatch one of the babies but the mother of the twin babies was too strong for him. Adeniran took a sharp object and cut off one of Basirat’s ears. Basirat was in a lot of pain but she managed to call on residents of the area to come to her rescue. Upon hearing the cry of Basirat, residents of the area rushed to the scene and chased Adeniran.
