Limit your consumption of animal protein: Consuming too much excess of this meat, such as red meat, poultry, eggs, and seafood, boosts the level of uric acid and could lead to kidney stones. A high-protein diet also reduces levels of urinary citrate, the chemical in urine that helps prevent stones from forming.


Drinking an excessive amount of alcohol frequently increases the risk of kidney stones substantially. Beer and grain alcohol can cause kidney stones due to their high concentration of purines. Purines are chemical compounds that can lead to uric acid kidney stones. Over the years, it has been proven that drinking too many alcoholic beverages regularly is associated with cancer disease, high blood pressure, eye cataract, stroke, and other medical conditions.

These injuries increase the nucleation, aggregation, and retention of crystals in the kidney thereby promoting the formation of stones.
